Peter Walls started Walls Bros Designer Kitchens in Adelaide in 1990. More than thirty-five years later the business still does the same thing, in the same order: draw the room, build it, finish it, install it.
What is unusual is that all four of those happen in one place. The factory, the spray booth, the showroom and the selection rooms are on a single site at Holden Hill, and the same team carries a job from the first measure to the last handle. Most cabinetmakers send their doors out to a third party to be sprayed. We do it here on our own paint line, which is why a colour matches across a kitchen, a pantry and a laundry delivered weeks apart.
Everything is drawn in 3D before anything is cut, so a client sees the room and signs it off rather than reading a plan. Nothing is a catalogue product. Every job is measured to the house it is going into.
We work for South Australian homeowners and for the builders who bring us into their projects, and we train apprentices so the next lot of cabinetmakers learn it here.
